screenshot_277OH MY GOODNESS. Generally I don’t rewatch an episode right after finishing watching it the first time. I’ve seen it, it’s great, time to move on but Supergirl is different. Supergirl is just about the only show I’m doing that for. IT. IS. THAT. GOOD.

The Children of Krypton is Season 2 Episode 2
Rating: 5/5 (I wanted to give it a 10)

Supergirl is hurt by a kryptonite-powered villain sent by Cadmus to attack National City. Superman blames Hank since the kryptonite was stolen from the DEO. In the meantime, Kara’s first day at her new job doesn’t go as planned when she meets her new boss.

TV Ratings

  • The episode ratings are in (just for the aired show on The CW without the figures for the repeats / DVR / Online etc) and it at’s 0.9/3 Adults 18-49 rating and 2.57 million viewers. It’s down a little from the high of the first episode which got 1.1 (3.024 million) viewers.

Standout moments

  • The playful banter between Clark and Kara as they stopped a robbery. Kara’s absolute delight in working with her cousin was just so cute. That infectious laugh
  • Cat Grant leaving!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Well we know that Calista will be back but not in every episode. BOOO! I watched the first episode because I’m a huge Calista fan so I’m sad to see her be on less episodes.
  • A touching farewell moment between Cat and Kara – I almost got teary right along with Kara
  • Another touching moment between Cat and Supergirl – awwww damn give me those tissues!
  • Cadmus – I thought they were a secret government project…guess they didn’t like to be in the shadows any longer so they announce themselves to the world. There goes the secret bit
  • Metallo x 2 – pretty impressive that they take on the two super cousins and nearly beat them. Also pretty easy to beat with Winn’s help, Super Cousins, Jonn J’onzz and Borgified Alex
  • THIS: – if you just saw this screenshot alone, Kara is doomed but fear not – it’s just a scratch!
  • AND THIS: – Kara (with her special attachment thingy (I need Winn) and Alex (in her borg suit) fighting together. I squealed in delight (yes I did and scared my poor cat). Those two are just EXTRAORDINARY

and THIS!!!!! Alex going up against Cadmus thugs ON HER OWN!! That had me squealing again! She almost got beat and then Kara arrives! They fought side by side and it was GLORIOUS! They are the Sisters of Steel!!!!

  • Alex in her borg suit on flinging a dumpster to save her sister. How’s that for Super Alex! OMG I l just love this character! I need to gif that moment!
  • James is MIA except for one fleeting moment where we find out he is now in charge
  • Kara’s new journo boss…Snapper Carr. He was a little too cranky but lovable (sort of)
  • Winn! Winn! Winn! Glorious smart Winn! He needs to get out more and find a girlfriend/boyfriend that isn’t a screaming banshee!
  • Winn’s super hug! I was laughing so much – that’s such a nerdy fanboy thing.
  • Clark and Hank kiss and make up – awww that’s so cute
  • I fear that Kara will have to battle a Cadmus super powered Jeremiah and it will be a mirror of the Alex killing Astra moment. You can feel it, it’s been set up and it’s going to get emotional and ugly.
  • Kara forgetting that it’s not who you are born into but the family you choose that matters. She forgot about Alex while she was ecstatic about having Clark around but she came to her senses.
  • Alex finally laying it out there for Kara – she did everything to protect Kara. Show some respect little sis!
  • Kara figuring out how to defeat Metallo x 2.
